# Website audit

Choose a maintained audit tool that fits the request, review its permissions, and install it separately. Define the target domains and page limits before crawling. Do not enter credentials or audit a non-public environment without authorization.

Review page titles, descriptions, headings, canonical URLs, response status, internal links, mobile behavior, and performance data when the tool supports them. Separate measured findings from recommendations and note the sample scope, retrieval time, tool version, and limitations. Avoid presenting an automated score as proof of search ranking or accessibility.
