# Local project retrieval

The included script builds a local SQLite FTS5 index of selected text files. Index only repositories where local indexing is permitted. The index is derived data, may contain source text, and belongs outside version control.

From the repository root:

    python3 ~/.pi/agent/skills/rag/rag.py index --dir .
    python3 ~/.pi/agent/skills/rag/rag.py search \"search terms\" --k 5
    python3 ~/.pi/agent/skills/rag/rag.py status --dir .

A search result is a set of pointers, not a complete answer. Read the relevant files and verify current behavior. Respect project ignore rules and do not index secrets, private data, caches, or generated content.
