agentmarket CLI

Install MCP servers and Agent Skills from Agent Mart into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Gemini CLI and Claude Desktop with one command. It shows every change before writing it.

Get started

Needs Node.js 20 or newer. No install step: run it with npx.

npx agentmarket search postgres --type connector
npx agentmarket info connector/notion-com-mcp
npx agentmarket install connector/notion-com-mcp --host cursor
npx agentmarket install skill/<slug> --host claude-code --scope project

Every listing page shows its own command under Install. The package is not on npm yet; it will be published soon.

Commands

  • agentmarket search <query> --type, --host, --limit
  • agentmarket info <type/slug> summary, grades, tools, env vars, install hosts
  • agentmarket install <type/slug> --host, --scope user|project, --env KEY=value, --env-file, --dry-run, --yes, --force
  • agentmarket uninstall <type/slug> removes only what install added
  • agentmarket list what the CLI installed and whether it is still there
  • agentmarket doctor Node version, config files parse, API reachable
  • agentmarket telemetry on|off|status opt-in install stats
  • agentmarket stack install <slug> every item of a stack in one go: one combined diff, one confirmation; --host, --scope, --env, --dry-run, --yes
  • agentmarket stack show | uninstall | export <slug> export --format mcp-json|cursor|vscode|claude-desktop|agents-md prints a config to paste
  • agentmarket login / logout store your CLI key (create it at /cli/key): installs count toward install-verified reviews
  • agentmarket open <type/slug> open the listing page

Every command takes --json. Exit codes: 0 ok, 1 error, 2 cancelled, 3 not found.

What install does

  • It never runs anything from the listing. It adds one entry to your tool's config after showing you the exact change, or copies a skill folder (no symlinks, 10 MB at most).
  • It backs up the file first, keeps your comments and other entries, and refuses to edit a file that does not parse.
  • Secrets stay on your machine: pass them with --env, or fill in the <SET_ME> placeholder later. VS Code gets a password prompt instead.
  • Listings with security grade D or F need --force.

Telemetry

Off until you say yes; the CLI asks once. DO_NOT_TRACK=1 or --no-telemetry always turn it off. With it on, the CLI sends this to https://agentmart.dev/api/v1/installs after an install or uninstall, and once a day for items still installed (how we count installs that stick):

{
  "events": [
    {
      "install_id": "3f0c…-random-per-machine",
      "listing_id": "connector:com.notion/mcp",
      "host": "cursor",
      "event": "install",
      "success": true,
      "error_code": null,
      "cli_version": "0.1.0",
      "os": "darwin"
    }
  ]
}

Never paths, usernames, env values or secrets, and we don't store IP addresses with these events. CLI installs count toward a listing's adoption only as distinct install ids.

Installs from a stack add stack_slug. If you logged in with a CLI key, the request carries it and the events are linked to your account: that is what lets you write install-verified reviews. Log out to send them unlinked.

Uninstall and troubleshooting

npx agentmarket list
npx agentmarket uninstall connector/notion-com-mcp --host cursor
npx agentmarket doctor

Restart the tool after installing (Claude Desktop needs a full quit). Each change leaves a backup next to the config file (.bak-<time>). Hit the rate limit? Log in with an API key: see developers.
