# Committee

A few members deliberate in turns, and the chair decides. You are the
chair unless the plan names another.

Works well for: researching what exists, and refining a draft. It narrows
ideas, so it comes late on generative work: generate first, then let a
committee refine.

## Run it

1. Keep the committee small: three to five members. Give each a role that
pulls in a different direction (sources, critic, practitioner).
2. Round one is blind: each member answers alone.
3. Round two is deliberation: share the answers, and ask each member what
the others got wrong or missed. Stop when a round adds nothing new.
4. The chair decides. State the decision, the strongest objection still
standing, and why the decision holds against it.

## Keep it honest

- Deliberation converges; that is its strength and its cost. When the task
needs new ideas, say so and pick another pattern.
- Do not let the loudest member set the answer. Weigh arguments, not
  repetition.
- The decider on the receipt is the chair.
