# General Guidelines

Core conventions that apply to every coding task.

## When to Apply

Always — before writing code, making commits, or reviewing a PR.

## Rules

- `workflow` — Understand before coding, small increments, group by feature, descriptive names
- `code-quality` — Readability, single responsibility, strict TypeScript, no `any`, type guards
- `git` — Conventional commits, `feat/fix` branches, pre-commit checklist
- `review` — Constructive feedback, severity tiers, small focused PRs
- `performance` — `Promise.all()` for parallel async, `Map`/`Set` for O(1) lookups, early exit, direct imports

Read individual rule files in `rules/` for full detail.
