# MCP Setup (Codex Native)

Configure MCP in a Codex runtime context, not Codex plugin context.

## Baseline

```bash
superskills setup --target codex
superskills skills sync
superskills codex bridge-status --json
```

## What to Configure

1. Codex runtime bridge availability (`mcp__t__*`, `mcp__x__*`, `mcp__g__*`).
2. Project-level `.mcp.json` entries for external servers.
3. Optional API-key based providers through environment variables.

## Verification

```bash
superskills codex route "plan: verify mcp availability" --json
superskills codex run "autopilot: use mcp diagnostics and summarize" --json
```

## Rules

- Prefer codex-safe paths and project-local configuration.
- Do not instruct users to edit `~/.superskills-codex/settings.json`.
- If a server is missing, return the exact add/install command needed.

Keep outputs deterministic: configured servers, missing servers, next command.
