# important commands

`mix help` list available hex commands. Run this command once at the start of a session that involves elixir code.

`mix hex.docs` to fetch all documentation locally. better than fetching via web)

ALWAYS, always prefer `mix` commands over doing things manually.
Always prefer using a generator to scaffold things out.

Before running any `mix` command, run `mix help <command>`

# additional resources

Answer the following question before writing any elixir code:

> Is this a small and simple or more complex change?

Definitions:
Simple: Like renaming a variable, changing some text etc?
Complex: New feature, creating new Modules, writing new functions, writing ecto queries, writing template code

If it's complex:
    Use the write-or-review-elixir skill.

if it is simple:
    You don't need the write-or-review-elixir.
