# Adapter: TypeScript

## Focus

- Strong contracts at module boundaries.
- Safe narrowing and explicit return types where helpful.
- Config alignment with project goals.

## Starter Checklist

- [ ] New logic uses explicit, meaningful types.
- [ ] Unsafe casts are minimized and justified.
- [ ] Public interfaces remain stable or are documented.
- [ ] Typecheck behavior considered in CI setup.

## Implementation Pattern

Evidence: 4-repo field extraction — see `.ai/MERGE_REPORT.md`.

- Define shared/cross-cutting types once in a dedicated types module and import them; never
redefine the same domain/wire shape independently in multiple files.
- Whatever strictness level (`strict`, `noImplicitAny`, etc.) is already configured in the
project's `tsconfig.json` is the standard to follow for that project — do not silently
tighten or loosen it as part of an unrelated task. Real repos in the field run at meaningfully
different strictness levels on purpose; matching the existing config matters more than
  matching any single "ideal" setting.
