# Storybook Engineering

Use Storybook as the isolated workbench for reusable component states, not as documentation ceremony.

For a reusable component, cover meaningful behavior: primary variants/sizes, disabled/loading/selected/invalid states where real, long/localized content, narrow constraints, themes, and interactions that can regress. Avoid Cartesian-product story spam.

Use play/interaction tests where they protect real behavior. Use the a11y addon for automated evidence, while remembering it cannot prove complete accessibility.

Do not force a new major Storybook version into an incompatible legacy framework. Preserve a healthy existing Storybook setup and its project conventions.
