# CI Checker

Checks GitHub CI status for PRs and guides fixing any failures.

## Configuration

Uses the **production API** by default. No configuration needed for read operations.

**Defaults (no setup required):**

- API URL: `https://api-gateway-856475788601.us-central1.run.app`
- Read-only endpoints at `/public/*` require no authentication

**For write operations** (state transitions), set:

```bash
export PIPELINE_API_KEY="..."  # Get from GCP Secret Manager or ask admin
```

## Prerequisites

- PR must exist (URL or number)
- `gh` CLI authenticated
- On the PR branch (auto-checkout below if not)

## Workflow

### 0. Checkout PR Branch (MANDATORY)

**IMPORTANT: Do NOT use `gh api repos/.../contents` or any other remote API to read file contents. Always work from a local checkout. It is faster for multiple file reads, enables grep and broad context checks, and produces more reliable verification.**

You MUST have a local working copy of the PR branch before proceeding to any later step. Check it out:

```bash
# Extract PR info
PR_NUMBER=<N>
REPO_NAME=$(gh pr view "$PR_NUMBER" --json repository --jq '.repository.name // empty' 2>/dev/null \
  || basename "$(gh repo view --json name -q .name)")
BRANCH=$(gh pr view "$PR_NUMBER" --json headRefName -q .headRefName)
```

**Try methods in order:**

```bash
# Method 1: Already on the branch
CURRENT=$(git branch --show-current 2>/dev/null)
if [ "$CURRENT" = "$BRANCH" ]; then
  echo "Already on $BRANCH"
# Method 2: Existing worktree
elif [ -d "${WORKTREE_BASE:-$HOME/worktrees}/$REPO_NAME/$BRANCH" ]; then
  cd "${WORKTREE_BASE:-$HOME/worktrees}/$REPO_NAME/$BRANCH"
# Method 3: Cross-repo task directory
elif ls -d "${CROSS_REPO_BASE:-$HOME/cross-repo-tasks}"/*/"$REPO_NAME" 2>/dev/null | head -1 | grep -q .; then
  cd "$(ls -d "${CROSS_REPO_BASE:-$HOME/cross-repo-tasks}"/*/"$REPO_NAME" 2>/dev/null | head -1)"
# Method 4: wt-continue (branch exists on remote)
else
  wt-continue "$REPO_NAME" "$BRANCH"
  cd "${WORKTREE_BASE:-$HOME/worktrees}/$REPO_NAME/$BRANCH"
fi
```

**Safety checks before syncing:**

```bash
# Abort if uncommitted changes
if [ -n "$(git status --porcelain)" ]; then
  echo "❌ ABORT: Uncommitted changes detected. Stash or commit first."
  git status --short
  exit 1
fi
# Sync with remote
git fetch origin
```

### 1. Get Ticket and PR Info

```typescript
import { PipelineClient, PipelineAPIError } from '@pipeline/client'
const client = new PipelineClient({
  apiUrl: process.env.PIPELINE_API_URL || 'https://api-gateway-856475788601.us-central1.run.app',
  agentId: process.env.AGENT_ID!,
})
const ticket = await client.getTicket(ticketId).catch(() => null)
if (!ticket) {
  console.error('❌ No pipeline ticket found. Run ticket-intake first to register this ticket.')
  // Stop here - ticket-intake must run before this skill
}
const prNumber = ticket.prNumber
const prUrl = ticket.prUrl
```

If no PR number on ticket, ask: "PR number? (or paste URL)"

### 2. Check CI Status

```bash
gh pr checks {pr-number}
```

Parse each check for status:

- ✅ pass
- ❌ fail
- 🔄 pending

### 3. Report Status

Present as table:

```markdown
# CI Status for PR #{number}
| Check     | Status     | Duration |
