How to connect Cloudflare to Cursor

The Cloudflare MCP server is published by mcp.cloudflare.com, which the listing marks as the vendor. This guide adds it to Cursor. The server is hosted, so nothing runs on your machine, and the listing names no required key. You will add a short entry to Cursor's MCP config, then confirm the server loaded. The setup comes from the listing's install data and Cursor's documentation, last read on 2026-10-26.

Updated Oct 26, 2026 · Built from catalog data; how we rank and grade

Checked against Cursor's documentation on Oct 26, 2026. Commands and config blocks are generated from the same install data as each listing page.

Before you start

  • Cursor installed and able to start.
  • Network access to docs.mcp.cloudflare.com.
  • No API key is listed for Cloudflare.
  1. 1. Check what you need

    All the work happens on the hosted side, so the only prerequisite is that Cursor can reach docs.mcp.cloudflare.com over the network.

    • The listing names no required key.
  2. 2. Add Cloudflare to Cursor

    The entry carries a server name and a hosted address, with no program to launch. Put it in the project file or in the global one, depending on where you want Cloudflare available.

    Add this to .cursor/mcp.json in the project, or to ~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project.cursor/mcp.json
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "cloudflare": {
          "url": "https://docs.mcp.cloudflare.com/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
  3. 3. Sign in

    If the server uses OAuth, Cursor starts the sign-in the first time you enable the server from Customize.

  4. 4. Restart or reload if it does not appear

    If Cloudflare is missing from Cursor, this step covers what the docs say about restarts and what to expect when an agent first tries a tool.

    • The docs do not say whether editing mcp.json needs a restart. They tell you to restart Cursor after updating files of a custom local server.
    • Cursor asks for approval before an agent uses an MCP tool unless you allowlist it.

Check that it works

Open the Output panel and read the MCP Logs channel to see whether Cursor connected to Cloudflare. The catalog also records 2 tools for this listing.

  • Open the Output panel (Cmd+Shift+U on macOS), choose MCP Logs, and look for connection errors. A working server lists its tools under Available Tools; agent mcp list shows connection state from the terminal.
  • Once it is connected, Cursor should list its tools; the catalog records 2 for Cloudflare, including migrate_pages_to_workers_guide and search_cloudflare_documentation.

Troubleshooting

A server fails or an npm-based server misbehaves after an update
Check the MCP Logs channel in the Output panel. For npm-based servers the docs suggest removing the server, running npm cache clean --force, and adding it again. Source

Security notes

  • Publisher: mcp.cloudflare.com, listed as the vendor's own server; license Apache-2.0.
  • Your requests go to docs.mcp.cloudflare.com. Check who runs it and what it does with your data before you connect.
  • The listing declares no required keys; use a token with the narrowest scope if the service asks for one.
  • This listing has no security grade: Agent Market has not published security grades yet, so the choice is yours to make from the source and the permissions.
