How to connect Figma to Cursor
This guide puts the Figma MCP Server into Cursor. The listing shows mcp.figma.com as the publisher and flags it as the vendor's own hosted server, with no API key listed. Setup is one entry in a Cursor MCP file followed by a possible sign-in and a log check. Everything comes from the listing's install data and Cursor's documentation.

Checked against Cursor's documentation on Oct 26, 2026. Commands and config blocks are generated from the same install data as each listing page.
Before you start
- Cursor installed and able to start.
- Network access to mcp.figma.com.
- No API key is listed for Figma MCP Server.
1. Check what you need
Cursor connects out to a hosted endpoint here, so no local tooling is needed beyond Cursor itself.
- The listing names no required key.
2. Add Figma MCP Server to Cursor
One JSON entry registers Figma MCP Server. Drop it in the project file for that project, or in the user-level file for all of them.
Add this to .cursor/mcp.json in the project, or to ~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project .cursor/mcp.json{ "mcpServers": { "figma": { "url": "https://mcp.figma.com/mcp" } } }3. Sign in
OAuth is the case this step covers. If Figma MCP Server uses it, Cursor starts the sign-in on first enable.
4. Restart or reload if it does not appear
The docs leave one question open about editing
mcp.json, and the notes here say which one.- The docs do not say whether editing mcp.json needs a restart. They tell you to restart Cursor after updating files of a custom local server.
- Cursor asks for approval before an agent uses an MCP tool unless you allowlist it.
Check that it works
MCP Logs and Available Tools show whether Figma MCP Server connected. The listing records no tool count, so there is no number to match.
- Open the Output panel (Cmd+Shift+U on macOS), choose MCP Logs, and look for connection errors. A working server lists its tools under Available Tools; agent mcp list shows connection state from the terminal.
Troubleshooting
- A server fails or an npm-based server misbehaves after an update
- Check the MCP Logs channel in the Output panel. For npm-based servers the docs suggest removing the server, running npm cache clean --force, and adding it again. Source
Security notes
- Publisher: mcp.figma.com, listed as the vendor's own server; license unknown.
- Your requests go to mcp.figma.com. Check who runs it and what it does with your data before you connect.
- The listing declares no required keys; use a token with the narrowest scope if the service asks for one.
- This listing has no security grade: Agent Market has not published security grades yet, so the choice is yours to make from the source and the permissions.
