# Get Course Structure

This is an **Action** skill — a single, unambiguous API call. It is deterministic and narrowly scoped.

## Endpoint

`GET /incoming/v2/courses/{courseId}/structure`

## When to use

- Reading the full hierarchy of a course in one call (sections → lessons → topics) — **IDs and titles only, no body content**.
- Understanding the layout before updating or rewriting content.
- Generating a table of contents from an existing course.

> To read the actual topic **body** content (not just the structure), use **`get-full-content`**. To turn a course/lesson/topic **title or admin URL** into the UUIDs below, use **`resolve-content`**.

## Agent instructions

1. Require the course `courseId` (UUID — this is the course ID within a course group, **not** the course group ID).
   - This is the **`displayCourseId`** returned by `list-course-groups` and `get-course-group`.
   - If you only have a title, slug, or admin URL, run the **`resolve-content`** action to get this `courseId` (and any lesson/topic IDs) automatically.
2. Run `get-course-structure.js --id=UUID`.
3. Return the nested structure.
