# Browser Automation with agent-browser

## Quick start

```bash
agent-browser open <url>        # Navigate to page
agent-browser snapshot -i       # Get interactive elements with refs
agent-browser click @e1         # Click element by ref
agent-browser fill @e2 "text"   # Fill input by ref
agent-browser close             # Close browser - ALWAYS DO THIS WHEN DONE
```

> **⚠️ IMPORTANT: Always close the browser when done!**
> Run `agent-browser close` at the end of every browser session. Failure to close leaves orphaned Chrome processes that consume system resources.

## Core workflow

1. Navigate: `agent-browser open <url>`
2. Snapshot: `agent-browser snapshot -i` (returns elements with refs like `@e1`, `@e2`)
3. Interact using refs from the snapshot
4. Re-snapshot after navigation or significant DOM changes
5. **Close browser: `agent-browser close`** - ALWAYS do this when finished!

## Examples

**Example 1: Navigate and interact**
```
User: "Go to example.com and click the login button"
→ agent-browser open https://example.com
→ agent-browser snapshot -i
→ agent-browser click @e1
```

**Example 2: Fill a form**
```
User: "Fill the contact form"
→ agent-browser snapshot -i
→ agent-browser fill @e1 "name"
→ agent-browser fill @e2 "email"
→ agent-browser click @e3
```

**Example 3: Take a screenshot**
```
User: "Screenshot the page"
→ agent-browser screenshot --full output.png
```

## Commands

                              # Auto-prepends https:// if no protocol given
agent-browser back            # Go back
agent-browser forward         # Go forward
