# git-worktree-protection

Use this skill when a task might touch dirty trees, concurrent edits, or archival cleanup.

## Responsibilities

- preserve user changes
- avoid destructive resets
- keep file ownership narrow
- verify target paths before any move or delete
- distinguish archive work from active work

## Required Output

- touched paths
- ownership check
- whether the worktree was dirty before the change
- whether any archival or cleanup action was required

## Hard Rules

- Never reset the worktree unless the user explicitly asks.
- Never delete or move files outside the scoped target.
- Never overwrite other agent changes.
- Never treat root cleanup as routine if evidence has not been archived first.

## Entry And Return

Inspect status and owning paths before editing. Return the pre-change dirty
state, touched paths, and any verified archive target. This skill authorizes no
cleanup outside the active plan's allowed write scope.
