# Refactor And DX

1. State the behavior that must remain unchanged.
2. Identify the pain: duplication, unclear ownership, slow feedback, brittle
   tests, or confusing setup.
3. Prefer mechanical refactors that can be verified.
4. Add a small script only when it replaces repeated manual work.
5. Challenge over-engineering before implementing.
6. Run before/after checks.

Reject refactors that add abstraction without reducing real complexity.
