# Frontend TDD - For a bug, demonstrate the failure with a regression test before the fix when practical. - For new behavior, test the observable outcome. - For API integration, cover the contract and realistic failure states. - For a refactor, keep existing tests green and add characterization only where protection is weak. - For styling-only work, use visual review; do not manufacture a behavior test. - For animation, verify reduced-motion and completion state. - For SEO or performance, verify rendered output or measurements. Do not test private implementation details, mock every dependency, or call a test TDD when it never demonstrated failure.
