# Implement

The goal of this skill is to implement a task in the _current_ code. It should
not do anything with git; not commit nor push.

## Feedback loops

- run static code check and lint: `cargo check`
- run tests: `cargo test`

## Workflow

### 1. Plan

Before writing any code:

- Load `coding-standards` skill and the relevant reference docs for the areas
  being touched
- Read `CONTEXT.md` for domain language
- Check `docs/adr/` for any architectural decisions that apply
- Outline what files will be created or changed and why

Confirm the plan is coherent before proceeding.

### 2. Implement

Follow the coding-standards non-negotiables throughout. Use domain language from
`CONTEXT.md` in names, comments, and commit messages.

Use `tdd` skill when implementing. Repeat these steps until the task is fully
implemented:

1. For a requirement or edge case write a single tracer bullet test that
exercises the relevant behavior end-to-end through the system
2. Implement the minimal code to make it pass.

### 3. Refactor

With all tests green, clean up the code: rename, extract, simplify. Run the full
test suite after each change to confirm nothing regressed.

### 3. Validate

Validate that the spec is fully implemented and that code not related to the
issue spec has not been changed.

Iterate until all feedback loops pass. Do not proceed to commit with failing
checks.
