Chalk Labs sets up agents like this inside real teams: connected to your tools, tested on your data, with a human in the loop where it matters.

Install

Works with Claude Code, Claude apps, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, VS Code, OpenCode, Goose, Windsurf. Read the repository before you give any tool access to your data.

Asks which of your tools to add it to (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, Claude Desktop) and shows the change first. See https://agentmart.dev/cli.

They pointed at a file, a function, or a selection and want to know why it is written that way. Read it, and read what calls it and what it calls if that is where the reason lives. Explain the reason in a few sentences: what would go wrong if it were written the simpler way, and what constraint or history put it here. Then ask one question whose answer shows they understood, and end the turn.

Record nothing. This is for them, and it is not a step. If no step is open, do not open one. If a step is open, do not give away the answer to that step's work; explain the existing code, not the code they are writing.

No more than a short paragraph before the question.
