# Agent Orchestration Set up a repository so agents can work from durable files instead of a giant prompt or fragile session memory. ## Workflow 1. Inspect the target repo for existing `.codex/`, `docs/`, `issues/`, `PROJECT_STATE.md`, and `PROJECT_STATUS.md` files. 2. If orchestration files are missing, scaffold them from `assets/templates/`. 3. Ask which agent CLI should see the generated skills: Codex, Claude Code, both, or generic repo-local files only. 4. Preserve existing files unless the user explicitly asks to replace them. 5. Adapt the generated files to the repo's actual issue tracker, docs layout, test commands, and branch workflow. 6. Explain the resulting orchestrator loop and how the user resumes work later. 7. Validate that the target repo now has durable state, issue storage, and worker handoff templates. ## Scaffold For the default setup, run this skill's scaffold script from the target repo: ```sh bash path/to/agent-orchestration/scripts/scaffold-orchestration.sh --target . ``` The script creates: - `.codex/orchestrator.md` - `.codex/worker.md` - `.codex/workflow.md` - `.codex/orchestration/role-and-loop.md` - `.codex/orchestration/discovery-and-status.md` - `.codex/orchestration/issue-management.md` - `.codex/orchestration/history-policy.md` - `.codex/orchestration/delegation-and-worker-package.md` - `.codex/orchestration/review-and-validation.md` - `.codex/orchestration/git-archive-state.md` - `.codex/orchestration/completion-output.md` - `.codex/skills/tdd.md` - `.codex/skills/code-review.md` - `.codex/skills/git-workflow.md` - `.codex/skills/issue-triage.md` - `.agents/skills/.../SKILL.md` when configuring Codex - `.claude/skills/.../SKILL.md` when configuring Claude Code - `PROJECT_STATE.md` - `PROJECT_STATUS.md` - `issues/active/ISSUE-000-template.md` - `issues/archive/.gitkeep` - `docs/decisions/ADR-000-template.md` Use `--dry-run` to preview changes. Use `--force` only after confirming overwrites are intended. ## Agent CLI Selection By default, the scaffold script asks which agent CLI to configure when it is run in a terminal. List supported agents: ```sh bash path/to/agent-orchestration/scripts/scaffold-orchestration.sh --list-agents ``` Configure Codex project skills: ```sh bash path/to/agent-orchestration/scripts/scaffold-orchestration.sh --target . --agent codex ``` Configure Claude Code project skills: ```sh bash path/to/agent-orchestration/scripts/scaffold-orchestration.sh --target . --agent claude ``` Configure both: ```sh bash path/to/agent-orchestration/scripts/scaffold-orchestration.sh --target . --agent both ``` Use generic repo-local files only: ```sh bash path/to/agent-orchestration/scripts/scaffold-orchestration.sh --target . --agent generic ``` ## Bundled Modules The orchestration scaffold includes bundled workflow modules. These are copied into `.codex/skills/` as durable workflow modules. When an agent CLI is selected, matching wrapper skills are also created in that agent's project skill directory so the modules are visible in the agent UI or skill picker. List bundled modules: ```sh bash path/to/agent-orchestration/scripts/scaffold-orchestration.sh --list-bundles ``` Install the default bundle set: ```sh bash path/to/agent-orchestration/scripts/scaffold-orchestration.sh --target . ``` Choose bundles interactively: ```sh bash path/to/agent-orchestration/scripts/scaffold-orchestration.sh --target . --interactive ``` Install only specific bundles: ```sh bash path/to/agent-orchestration/scripts/scaffold-orchestration.sh --target . --bundles tdd,code-review
