Works with Claude Code, Claude apps, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, VS Code, OpenCode, Goose, Windsurf. Read the repository before you give any tool access to your data.

npx agentmarket install skill/melek-setup

Asks which of your tools to add it to (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, Claude Desktop) and shows the change first. See https://agentmart.dev/cli.

# LCARS Setup Diagnostic

Run installation checks and surface actionable fixes.

## Instructions

When user runs `/lcars:setup`:

1. Run the diagnostic script:

```bash
sh ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/bin/python-shim.sh ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/lib/setup.py
```

2. Present results as a table:

| Check | Status | Detail |
|-------|--------|--------|
| python | pass/fail/warn | version and path |
| dirs | pass/fail | data directory status |
| scores | pass/fail/warn | scoring ledger status |
| thresholds | pass/fail/warn | config validity |
| imports | pass/fail | module availability |
| scoring | pass/fail/warn | pipeline test result |
| tool-factory | pass/fail/warn | MCP server config |
| hybrid | pass/info | LLM judge availability |

3. For any failures, provide platform-specific remediation:

### Python not found or too old

- **macOS**: `brew install python@3.12`
- **Linux (Debian/Ubuntu)**: `sudo apt install python3`
- **Linux (Fedora)**: `sudo dnf install python3`
- **Windows**: Install from [python.org](https://www.python.org/downloads/) or `winget install Python.Python.3.12`

### Data directory missing

The directory `~/.claude/lcars/` is created automatically on first hook run. If missing:
- Verify LCARS is installed as a Claude Code plugin (`claude mcp list` or check `~/.claude/plugins/`)
- Start a new Claude Code session to trigger the SessionStart hook

### Scores empty or stale

- Scores are recorded by the Stop hook after each response
- If empty after multiple sessions, check that hooks are firing (`hooks.json` is loaded)

### Thresholds missing or invalid

- The file `data/thresholds.json` ships with the plugin
- If missing, the plugin installation may be incomplete — reinstall

### Import failures

- Ensure the plugin files are intact (no missing `lib/*.py` modules)
- Reinstall the plugin if files are missing

### Tool-factory missing dependencies

The tool-factory MCP server requires `mcp` and `anyio` Python packages. These are not bundled with the plugin because they are pip-installable packages that depend on the user's Python environment.

If the check reports missing packages, offer to install them. Detect the best available installer:

1. **`uv`:** `uv pip install --system -r ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/tool_factory/requirements.txt` (or without `--system` if in a venv)
2. **`pip`:** `pip install -r ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/tool_factory/requirements.txt`
3. **`pip3`:** `pip3 install -r ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/tool_factory/requirements.txt`

If the system Python is externally managed (Debian/Ubuntu) and `--system` fails, suggest:
- `uv pip install --system --break-system-packages -r ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/tool_factory/requirements.txt`
- Or install into a user site: `pip install --user -r ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/tool_factory/requirements.txt`

After installing, the tool-factory server will connect on next plugin reload (`/reload-plugins`).

### Hybrid scoring

Hybrid scoring uses a prompt-type hook on Stop to evaluate responses via Claude Code's own auth. No separate API key needed. If the check reports "deterministic-only," verify that `hooks/hooks.json` contains a prompt-type hook in the Stop event.

## Output Format

Present as a compact diagnostic summary. No preambles. Data first.
