# FastAPI Skill Guide

## Key Principles
1. **Async by Default**: Use `async def` for I/O-bound endpoints (database calls, web requests) and standard `def` for CPU-bound or sync operations.
2. **Pydantic V2 Models**: Use Pydantic V2 schemas for strict request validation and response serialization.
