# Testing

Run verification in this order:

1. The narrowest regression test.
2. The relevant test suite.
3. Type checking.
4. Linting.
5. Build.
6. Final diff inspection.

Never claim that a fix works without reporting executed verification.

The regression must assert the intended behavior, not mirror the patch. Demonstrate
that it fails on the original defect and passes with the fix when practical; record
any reproduction limitation. Check a relevant unaffected or failure path as well.
If verification contradicts the hypothesis, return to investigation within the task
budget. Do not weaken assertions or stack speculative patches to obtain a green run.
