# GIM security (agent constraints)

The model is **untrusted**. Tools are enforced — prompt injection may cause *attempts*, not bypass.

## Invariants

1. **No host shell** — only `guest_bash` in Docker
2. **Workspace jail** — FS tools cannot escape stack workspace (`../`, absolute paths → deny)
3. **Destructive bash deny** — `rm -rf`, `curl|bash`, force push → blocked
4. **Secret write deny** — `.env`, `id_rsa`, `.git/` writes blocked
5. **Guest surface** — workspace mount only; no `docker.sock`, no `--privileged`
6. **Updates** — sha256 on release zip

## Network

- `open` preset = full egress with **WARN** in logs
- Prefer `allowlist` or `offline` for untrusted prompts / poisoned workspace files
- Indirect injection via README/STRUCTURE in workspace — treat file content as untrusted; enforcement still applies to tools

## What agent must not claim

- Immunity to prompt injection
- Safe execution of model-suggested host commands (there is no host tool)
- That secrets in workspace are hidden from model **reads** (writes are blocked; reads are not)

## Verify (maintainers)

```bash
npm run test:security
gim doctor --security
gim doctor --release
npm run smoke:egress
```
