# Bootstrap

Establish the active conversation language, read applicable project instructions, and load only the skill needed for the current phase. User instructions take precedence over skills; skills take precedence over defaults. Do not load phase helpers early.

## Shared artifact contract

Full and Mini use six concise living documents: `prd.md`, `spec.md`, `designs.md`, `plan.md`, `tasks.md`, and `verify.md`. Mini is shorter in ceremony and content density, not a different execution or acceptance contract. Keep exact task instructions, global Given/When/Then criteria and metadata, evidence, corrective work, branch timing, and Gate UA.

`/specai-plan` stays lightweight. `/specai-write-propose` invokes `specai-propose`. The proposal summary is the single proposal decision point; do not add approvals per artifact or skill.

Before implementation, the six documents must exist and the user must choose implement or backlog. Keep proposal and backlog work branchless. Create an implementation branch only after the user chooses implementation.

## Documentation Gates

**INQUEBRANTABLE:** Full and Mini require all six living documents before implementation. PRD approval precedes the other five documents, and the single proposal decision precedes the implement/backlog choice.

## Skills and platform tools

Invoke the relevant skill before its phase. Consult a platform mapping only when a platform-specific tool is needed. On Codex, use `references/codex-tools.md` only when delegating work.

Load grill-me for grounded design clarification, write-prd for a concise PRD, documentation for the six artifacts and their updates, execution skills only after the user chooses implementation, and verification/finish skills only at their respective phases. A dispatched task agent skips this bootstrap.
