  • create_plugin_skeleton

    Materializes a new Moodle plugin's directory structure on disk: version.php with real values filled in, lang/en/{component}.php, the type's mandatory entry-point file(s), and stub db/*.php files for any requested features. Deterministic scaffolding only — no generated business logic. Pair with the scaffold_plugin prompt for AI-drafted implementation content. Refuses to run if the target plugin directory already exists.

  • doctor

    Runs a full environment diagnostic: system dependencies, configuration, Moodle installation, generated index freshness, dev plugins, legacy files pending migration, cross-plugin consistency, deprecated core API usage, own-capability check consistency, own-lang-string usage consistency, and cache stats.

  • explain_plugin

    Returns a compact, section-selectable explanation of a plugin — metadata, database, events, classes, services/capabilities, or runtime flow — optimized to be cheaper to read than the full generated index files.

  • generate_plugin_context

    Generates the 12 PLUGIN_*.md context files for a single Moodle plugin: metadata, structure, DB tables, events, dependencies, function/callback/endpoint indexes, runtime flow, architecture, settings, and the combined AI context file.

  • get_plugin_info

    Returns the generated AI context for a plugin (or live-detected metadata if not yet generated).

  • init_moodle_context

    Initializes AI context for a Moodle installation. Validates the path, detects the version, saves configuration, and generates all global index files (API index, events, tasks, services, DB tables, classes, capabilities, plugin map, dev rules, workspace). Run this first before using any other build82 tool.

  • list_dev_plugins

    Lists every plugin currently marked .indevelopment.

  • plugin_batch

    Bulk-generates context for multiple plugins at once: 'dev' mode processes every .indevelopment-marked plugin (default), 'all' processes every plugin in the installation, 'list' processes an explicit set of plugin identifiers.

  • release_plugin

    Packages a plugin directory into a distributable ZIP, excluding build82's own generated files and other non-shippable artifacts. With strict:true, also validates the plugin against moodle.org plugin directory submission requirements before packaging.

  • search_api

    Searches the public Moodle API index (lib/ functions) for a query string, filterable by visibility.

  • search_plugins

    Searches the plugin index (component, type, name, version, path) for a query string.

  • update_indexes

    Regenerates the 13 global index files, re-detecting the Moodle version in case the installation was upgraded since init. Optionally also regenerates every .indevelopment plugin.

  • watch_plugins

    Starts, stops, or reports the status of the file-watcher that auto-regenerates dev-plugin context on change. Every currently connected session is notified when a regeneration completes, not just the one that started the watcher.
