  • add_dns_record

    Add a record to a domain's DNS zone. Propagation can take up to a few hours.

  • add_test_credit_to_account

    TEST ENVIRONMENT ONLY: add fake credit to your own (reseller) account.

  • add_test_credit_to_contact

    TEST ENVIRONMENT ONLY: add fake credit to a contact.

  • buy_hosting

    PAID: buy a domain and/or hosting, debited from the prepaid account (deferred). Confirm the package, period and price with the user before calling this.

  • check_dns_propagation

    Check whether a DNS change is live: what is saved in the LWS zone, what the domain's nameservers answer, and what three public resolvers (Cloudflare, Google, Quad9) answer. Public resolvers can keep an old answer until its TTL expires, so they may disagree for a while after a change; the answer says how long a stale one can last.

  • check_domain_availability

    Check whether a domain name is free to register (data is true when available).

  • create_contact

    Create a contact managed by the account, usable as owner of domains and hostings.

  • create_domain_redirect

    Redirect a whole domain to a URL.

  • delete_dns_record

    Delete a DNS record. Check the id with get_dns_zone first: a wrong record can take a site or mail down.

  • delete_domain_redirect

    Remove a domain's redirection (succeeds even if there was none).

  • get_account_balance

    Get the remaining balance of the prepaid account, in EUR.

  • get_contact

    Get a contact's details (name, address, e-mail, phone, credit).

  • get_dns_zone

    List the DNS records of a domain (id, type, name, value, ttl). Use the ids to update or delete records.

    Get a domain's owner, nameservers and status flags (redemption, hold, transfer lock).

    List every purchase, renewal and other transaction made through the API.

    Get the renewal price (hosting, domain, options) and the expiry status. Check it before renew_hosting.

    List the extensions LWS sells with their purchase, renewal, transfer and restore prices (EUR).

  • renew_hosting

    PAID: renew a hosting and its domain for another period, debited from the prepaid account (deferred). Show the price from get_renewal_prices to the user and get their confirmation first.

  • request_transfer_authcode

    Have the transfer authorization code e-mailed to the domain owner (deferred).

  • set_auto_renew

    Turn automatic renewal of a hosting (and its domain, if bought at LWS) on or off.

  • set_transfer_protection

    Lock or unlock the transfer of a domain to another registrar (deferred).

  • update_contact

    Update a contact's address, phone or password. Only the fields given are changed.

  • update_dns_record

    Replace an existing DNS record. Every field is required; LWS adds the record if the id does not exist. The record gets a new id: use the one returned here for any later change.

  • update_nameservers

    Replace the four nameservers of a domain (deferred: see list_pending_requests). Pointing a domain to other nameservers makes its LWS DNS zone stop answering. All four are required; repeat a value when there are fewer than four.
