Tools (19)
Read from the source code; the running server may differ. Descriptions are the server’s own words; hidden characters are shown as [U+…].
configRead or write a config value. op='get' reads a key; op='set' writes it (value required). Use key 'default_project' (global scope, no project) to pick the project used when a tool call omits `project`.
deprecate_entryMark an entry deprecated, optionally linking the entry that supersedes it. Deprecated entries are excluded from get_context unless asked for.
export_markdownRender the project's entries as a DECISIONS.md-style Markdown document. Excludes deprecated entries unless include_deprecated is set.
get_configDeprecated: use config(op='get'). Read a config value (global scope unless a project is given).
get_contextRelevance-ranked retrieval. Returns the entries most relevant to a query via keyword scoring over their fields. Deprecated entries are excluded unless include_deprecated is set.
get_project_summaryThe single orienting call: the whole lay of the land in one response — entry counts by kind and status, the ids present, the active constraints (compact), and the most recent decisions. Good first call to orient in a project; no further probing needed.
import_entriesBulk-insert entries from the local context-keeper JSON store format (a list of objects, each with an `id`). Preserves incoming ids; on id collision it reports rather than overwriting. Migration path from local decisions.json / pipelines.json / constraints.json.
list_projectsThe org registry: every project with entries in this store, plus per-project active counts (decisions, constraints, pipelines), active/deprecated totals, and last-updated time. Enumerates the whole org in one call — the reliable way to discover project names (which are case-sensitive) instead of guessing them. Most-recorded first.
prune_staleDelete deprecated entries older than a cutoff. Defaults to a dry run that only reports what would be removed; pass dry_run=false to actually delete.
query_entriesStructured query with combinable filters: id, kind, tags (all must match), status ('active' | 'deprecated' | 'all'), free text (all terms must appear), and limit. Returns matching entries plus `matched` (total before limit).
record_constraintDeprecated: use record_entry(kind='constraint'). Record a constraint: a rule that must hold. Use for invariants, hard requirements, and 'never do X' guardrails.
record_decisionDeprecated: use record_entry(kind='decision'). Record a decision: what was chosen and why. Captures the problem, the reasoning, alternatives tried, and tradeoffs so future sessions don't relitigate it.
record_entryUnified write tool: record a decision, constraint, or pipeline. Consolidates record_decision / record_constraint / record_pipeline (which remain as deprecated aliases). Required field depends on kind: decision needs summary; constraint needs rule; pipeline needs name.
record_pipelineDeprecated: use record_entry(kind='pipeline'). Record a pipeline: a reusable multi-step process or workflow. Captures its name, purpose, and steps.
reload_constraintsReturn the active constraints for a project in compact form. Cheap to call at the start of a session to reload the guardrails.

set_configDeprecated: use config(op='set'). Set a config value. Use key 'default_project' (global scope, no project) to pick the project used when a tool call omits `project`.
update_entryUpdate an existing entry. Merges `patch` fields into its payload (shallow), and optionally changes status. Bumps updated_at.
upsert_entriesBulk upsert entries in the local context-keeper JSON store format (a list of objects, each with an `id`). New ids are inserted; an existing id is replaced only when the incoming `updated_at` is strictly newer (last-writer-wins by timestamp), else skipped. Carries edits and deprecations between mirrored stores. Never deletes. Returns per-id action and counts.
verify_qualityFlag active entries that are missing rationale-bearing fields (decision.why_chosen, constraint.reason, pipeline.purpose) or their core field.
