Tools (12)
Read from the source code; the running server may differ. Descriptions are the server’s own words; hidden characters are shown as [U+…].
delete_pointsDelete points by id. Requires read-write access.
get_collection_infoReturn metadata for a single collection. Requires read access.
grant_accessGrant ``role`` the given ``access`` on ``collection``. Admin only. Idempotent — the (role, collection) pair maps to a deterministic point id, so subsequent calls update the existing grant in place. For global manage grants pass ``collection='*'`` and ``access='m'``. Optional ``doc_policy`` restricts which documents the role can see in ``collection``. The server translates it into a Qdrant payload filter injected into every search. ``doc_policy`` shape:: { "default": "allow" | "deny", "conditions": [ { "field": "<payload field>", "mode": "allow" | "deny", "values": […
list_aclList role grants stored in the ACL collection. Admin only. Optionally filter by ``role``.
list_collectionsList Qdrant collections the caller has at least read access to. Internal system collections (ACL grants, embedding metadata) are hidden from this listing — they are managed by dedicated tools or by the bootstrap process.
list_documentsList the distinct documents in a collection with their chunk counts. Documents are stored as multiple overlapping chunks (points); this tool aggregates them by their ``source`` field server-side, so **each document appears exactly once**. Use this to answer "which / what / how many documents are in collection X?" — unlike ``scroll_collection`` (which returns individual chunks and must not be deduplicated by hand), the result here is already deduplicated. Each entry is ``{"source": <file>, "chunks": <number of points>}``. Requires read access.
refresh_aclForce a reload of the in-memory ACL cache. Admin only.
revoke_accessRevoke a grant for ``(role, collection)``. Admin only. Idempotent: returns ``{"removed": true}`` whenever no such grant exists after the call, whether or not one existed beforehand. If the ACL collection itself doesn't exist, returns ``{"removed": false}``.
scroll_collectionList points in a collection without a query (full inventory). Returns up to *limit* points from *collection*, optionally starting after *offset*. Use this to enumerate documents — i.e. answer "what / which / how many documents are in collection X?" questions where there is no search query. Pass the returned ``next_offset`` back in to page through the whole collection; a ``null`` ``next_offset`` means the last page was reached. Requires read access.
search_collectionRun a vector similarity search. Requires read access.
search_collection_by_textSearch a collection using a natural-language text query. The query is embedded via the server's configured OpenAI-compatible embeddings endpoint using the model that was used to vectorize this collection (looked up in the meta collection). Requires read access.
upsert_pointsInsert or update points. Requires read-write access. Each point must contain ``id``, ``vector``, and optionally ``payload``.
