• craftofexile_cache_status

  Show the status of the local Craft of Exile data cache. Reports which files are present, their version timestamps, and when the site was last checked for updates. Run this before crafting queries to confirm data is available, or to see if an update is needed.

• currency_overview

  Returns top currency exchange rates for quick reference. Args: league: League name. Defaults to current temp league (auto-detected).

• fetch_wiki_page

  Fetch useful content from a poewiki.net page, stripping navigation and noise. Use this to get detailed mechanics, acquisition info, and recipes from the Community Wiki link returned by get_item_detail or get_gem_detail. Args: wiki_url: Full poewiki.net URL, e.g. "https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Headhunter"

• get_craft_base_items

  Look up base items from Craft of Exile data. Returns base item names with their drop levels. Use this to find the exact base name to use when setting up a crafting scenario. Args: query: Optional name filter (e.g. 'sword', 'vaal', 'hubris'). item_class: Optional class filter (e.g. 'helmet', 'ring', 'bow').

• get_craft_tiers

  Show tier value ranges and spawn weights for a craftable mod on a specific item class. Looks up mods matching the keyword query and returns every tier's minimum item level, value range, and spawn weight — the raw numbers behind crafting probability. Tiers are shown highest-first (T1 = best values, lowest weight / hardest to roll). Only tiers with non-zero weight are shown; zero-weight entries are unrollable (removed or debug mods) and are silently excluded. Args: base_type: Item class to look up tiers for. • get_essence_mods

  Look up the guaranteed mod an essence provides on each item type. Essences guarantee one specific mod when used on an item, replacing a random mod with a fixed one. This tool shows those guaranteed mods, optionally filtered to a specific item slot. Args: essence_name: Essence name to look up. Partial, case-insensitive match. Examples: 'anger', 'delirium', 'dread', 'woe'. Omit the 'Screaming'/'Shrieking'/etc. tier prefix — search by the base name and all tiers will be shown. item_type: Optional slot filter. • get_fossil_info

  Look up a fossil's mod type affinities: what it boosts, reduces, and blocks. Returns the mod type categories it makes more likely, less likely, and blocked — useful for planning fossil-crafting strategies (e.g. which fossil boosts physical mods without blocking life mods). Args: fossil_name: Fossil name to look up. Partial, case-insensitive match. Examples: 'pristine', 'aberrant', 'jagged', 'dense'. Use a partial name to list all matching fossils.

• get_gem_detail

  Get detailed information about a specific Path of Exile gem (via poedb). NOTE: Prefer pob-mcp's `get_gem_detail`, which sources gem data from Path of Building's own game data (patch-current, matches the in-game tooltip, handles Vaal/transfigured/support/minion variants). This poedb-scraping version is a fallback for when PoB/pob-mcp is unavailable; it can mis-target summoned-monster tooltips (guarded below) and lags the current patch. Args: gem_name: The gem name, e.g. "Fireball" or "Leap Slam".

  Install instructions and overview for the full poe_mcp_suite. poe-data-mcp (this server) is the game-data lookup component of a larger suite. Call this when the user wants deeper Path of Exile build analysis than lookups provide, or asks about the full suite / Path of Building integration.

  Search poe.ninja for the current price of any item or currency. Args: query: Item name to search (partial match supported). league: League name. Defaults to current temp league (auto-detected). category: Optional hint to narrow search. Options: currency, fragment, divcard, scarab, essence, oil, fossil, omen, tattoo, allflame, artifact, delirium, astrolabe, resonator, wombgift, incubator, unique, forbiddenjewel, shrinebelt, tincture, relic, gem, cluster, map, invitation, base, beast, vial.

• search_craft_mods

  Search Craft of Exile mod data by keyword. Searches mod text for the given keyword and returns matching mods with their IDs and text. Optionally narrow by item class (e.g. 'helmet', 'ring', 'bow'). This data comes from craftofexile.com's mod pool — it reflects the full list of rollable mods with their weight groupings as craftofexile tracks them, which is more crafting-focused than raw game data. Args: query: Keyword to search mod text for (e.g. 'life', 'fire resistance', 'attack speed', 'chaos'). item_class: Optional item class filter to narrow results.

• search_gem

  Search for Path of Exile gems by name or description keyword. Args: query: Search keyword to match against gem names and descriptions.

• search_mods

  Search for Path of Exile item modifiers (prefix/suffix) by item type. Returns available prefixes and suffixes that can roll on the given item type. Optionally filter by keyword (e.g. "life", "fire resistance", "attack speed"). Args: item_type: The item type to look up modifiers for. Examples: "Helmets_str", "daggers", "amulets", "boots dex", "body armours str int", "gloves dex", "cobalt jewel" query: Optional keyword to filter modifiers. If empty, returns a grouped overview.

• update_craftofexile_cache

  Download or refresh Craft of Exile data files from craftofexile.com. On first call this downloads all files (~a few MB total). Subsequent calls only re-download files whose version has changed on the site (checked via the ?v= timestamps embedded in the craftofexile homepage). The site is checked for updates at most every 12 hours automatically. Pass force=True to bypass the interval and check immediately.   Query poewiki Cargo tables directly — database-style access to item/mod data instead of fetching wiki pages one at a time. Answers "list ALL X with their properties" in one call: every currency item with descriptions, uniques by base, mods by domain.
