Tools (42)

Read from the source code; the running server may differ. Descriptions are the server’s own words; hidden characters are shown as [U+…].

  • activate_automation

Turn an automation ON (by name or id) so its trigger runs it automatically. The workflow is validated first; if it's incomplete this returns why.

  • ask_user

Ask targeted clarifying questions when the request is genuinely ambiguous or when building an AI agent. AI-agent requests should use a 5-point build brief: goal, entrypoint, model/cost, memory, and credential/config readiness. Each question must have 3–5 clickable option chips. Call this ONLY ONCE per conversation — after the user answers, always call create_workflow immediately. Never ask follow-up questions.

  • blinkbox_api

Full control of Blinkbox: call ANY Blinkbox REST endpoint the user owns, with any HTTP method. For plain reads prefer blinkbox_api_get, which needs no approval. Use this for anything the named tools above don't already do — analytics, profile, workspace members/invites, credentials, versions, feedback, duplicating/updating workflows, resuming/retrying/cancelling runs, and more. Discover routes by reading what the app does; pass a relative API path (e.g. '/analytics/overview', '/profile', '/automation/<id>/duplicate'), the HTTP method, and an optional JSON body. Methods: GET, POST, PATCH, PUT, …

  • blinkbox_api_get

Read ANY Blinkbox REST endpoint the user owns (GET only). Use this for every read the named tools above don't already cover — analytics, profile, workspace members, versions, credential metadata, workflow and run details. Pass a relative API path, e.g. '/analytics/overview', '/profile', '/automation/<id>'. This tool can only read; use blinkbox_api when you need POST/PATCH/PUT/DELETE. Off-limits for safety: auth, admin, billing, oauth, and API-key/connector management. Runs as the user, scoped to their own workspace.

  • calculator

Perform mathematical calculations. Supports arithmetic, algebra, percentages, unit conversions, and financial math. Always use this for any calculation instead of doing math in your head.

  • create_automation

Build a brand-new automation from a plain-English description using Blinkbox's AI builder. Example: 'When a Stripe payment succeeds, send me a Slack DM'. Optionally activate it immediately.

  • create_calendar_event

Create a Google Calendar event and optionally invite attendees. Use this when the user asks you to schedule a meeting, block time, or send calendar invites. Requires a Google Calendar OAuth credential ID.

  • create_credential

Save a new credential so nodes can authenticate. Use this for API-key / token style credentials — pass a name and the secret value. OAuth apps (Google/Gmail/Sheets/Drive/Calendar, Slack, Microsoft/Outlook/Teams, GitHub, Airtable, Notion, Meta/WhatsApp) cannot be connected from chat because they need a browser consent screen; for those this returns the page to click Connect on instead. Never ask the user to paste an OAuth token.

  • create_file

Create a file and send it to the user as a download. Use this whenever producing code, documents, CSV/JSON data, reports, or any file the user would want to save.

  • create_workflow

Create a BlinkBox automation workflow with fully configured nodes. REQUIREMENT: every node config must be production-ready — real field values, real prompts, real channel names, real cron expressions. No placeholders, no empty strings (except credentialId which users fill in). A workflow that needs manual editing before running is a failure.

  • cron_trigger

An indestructible schedule trigger that guarantees workflow execution. Swallows initialization errors and forces a start.

  • data_extractor

Extract, parse, and restructure data from JSON objects or strings. Supports dot-notation paths ("user.name"), array indexing ("items[0]"), wildcards ("items[*].price"), and extracting multiple paths at once. Use this to pull specific fields from API responses or complex data structures.

  • datetime

Get the current date, time, day of week, and Unix timestamp. Use this whenever you need to know what time or date it is right now.

  • deactivate_automation

Turn an automation OFF (by name or id) so it stops running automatically.

  • delete_automation

Permanently delete an automation by name or id. This cannot be undone.

Show 27 more tools
  • execute_js

Execute JavaScript code and return the result. Useful for data transformation, calculations, string manipulation, JSON processing, and algorithm implementation. Code runs in a sandboxed Node.js environment with access to standard built-ins but no file system or network access.

  • generate_image

Generate an image using DALL-E 3. Returns a URL to the generated image. Use this when the user asks you to create, draw, or generate an image or illustration. Requires an OpenAI credential ID.

  • get_automation

Get full details of one automation by name or id: status, trigger, and its steps.

  • get_execution

Check the status and result of a workflow run by its execution id.

  • get_execution_logs

Get the step-by-step logs for a workflow run by execution id.

  • get_node

Get everything needed to configure one node: its config fields (key, type, whether it's required, an example value, what it means), the output fields later steps can reference as {{ $json.field }}, whether it needs a credential and whether the user already has one, its output handles, and whether it exposes app actions. This is the node's configuration panel expressed as data — read it before filling a node's config instead of guessing field names.

  • http_request

Make an HTTP request to any URL or API endpoint. Supports GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE with custom headers and JSON body. Use this to call external APIs, fetch web pages, or send data to services.

  • list_automations

List the user's Blinkbox automations (workflows) with their on/off status, trigger, and id.

  • list_credentials

List the user's saved credentials by name, type and id. Secrets are never returned. Pass a node key to see only the credentials that node can use, plus what's still missing for it.

  • list_executions

List recent runs of an automation (by name or id) with their statuses.

  • list_node_actions

List the operations an app node can perform — e.g. slack → send_message, list_channels — with what each one does, the OAuth scopes it needs, and which is the default. Also lists the resource pickers the node offers (channels, sheets, bases…) that resolve live from the user's credential. Use this to choose a node's 'operation' value and know which parameters go with it.

  • list_nodes

Browse or search Blinkbox's node catalog — the building blocks of a workflow. Only nodes the user can actually reach from a picker are listed, so anything returned here is safe to build with. Filter by picker ('trigger' = what starts a workflow, 'action' = a step, 'agent' = AI-agent models/memory/tools), by category, or by free-text search over the name and key. Use this to find real node keys before create_automation, then get_node to learn how to configure one.

  • math_calculator

Evaluate mathematical expressions safely. Supports arithmetic (+, -, *, /, %, ^), parentheses, and functions: sqrt, abs, ceil, floor, round, min, max, log, ln, sin, cos, tan, pi, e. Use this for any calculation — do NOT attempt mental math.

  • recall

Retrieve a previously stored fact by its key. Use this to look up information you stored earlier with 'remember'.

  • remember

Store a fact or piece of information for later use in this session. Call this whenever you learn something important that you'll need to reference again.

  • rename_automation

Rename an automation (look it up by current name or id).

  • run_automation

Run an automation now by name or id (works whether it's active or not). Optionally pass input data. Returns the execution id.

  • run_code

Execute sandboxed JavaScript code in an isolated V8 environment. Input is available as $input, output via $output. No filesystem or network access.

  • run_workflow

Trigger another BlinkBox automation workflow. Use this when the user wants to kick off a sub-process, delegate to another workflow, or chain automations. Can only trigger workflows in the same workspace.

  • send_email

Send an email using the workspace's Gmail credential. Use this when the user asks you to email someone, send a message, or notify by email. Requires a Gmail OAuth credential ID.

  • summarize_url

Fetch any URL and return an AI-generated summary of its content. More efficient than web_search + reading results manually. Use this when you need to understand what a specific webpage contains.

  • text_to_speech

Convert text to spoken audio using OpenAI TTS. Returns base64-encoded MP3 audio. Use this when the user asks you to narrate, read aloud, or create audio from text. Requires an OpenAI credential ID.

  • think

Use this to reason through a problem step by step before acting. Write your thoughts as the input — no external action is taken. The output is your own thought returned back. Use this to plan, reflect, or work through complex logic.

  • web_scraper

Scrape and extract content from a web page. Supports browser rendering (Puppeteer) and fast reader (Jina) engines. Returns page content as markdown, text, or HTML.

  • web_search

Search the internet for current, real-time information. Returns titles, URLs, content snippets, and an AI-generated summary answer. Use this when you need up-to-date facts, news, or information not in your training data.

  • wikipedia

Search Wikipedia for factual information about people, places, events, concepts, and history. Returns a concise summary from the Wikipedia article.

  • workspace_memory

Read and write key-value data to workspace-scoped persistent memory (Redis). Use 'read' to retrieve previously stored values, 'write' to store new data, 'delete' to remove a key, or 'list' to see all stored keys. Data persists across agent executions within the same workspace.
