Tools (45)

Read from the source code; the running server may differ. Descriptions are the server’s own words; hidden characters are shown as [U+…].

  • ask_agent

Ask a specific AitherOS agent a question

  • calendar_create_event

Create an event on the person's local calendar. Use it when they ask you to "schedule", "book", "remind me", or set a meeting. `when` is an ISO string like "2026-08-07T15:00:00"; get_current_time tells you what time it is now. Omit `when` to schedule one hour from now.

  • calendar_list

List calendar events in a date range. `from`/`to` are ISO strings; omitted means all events. Prefer calendar_today for "today".

  • calendar_today

Show today's agenda from the person's local calendar. Use it when they ask "what's on my calendar" or "what am I doing today".

  • chat

Send a message to AitherOS and get a response

  • deep_research

Research a topic properly: searches the web, reads the pages, and returns a summary WITH its sources. Slower than web_search — use it when a question deserves a real answer rather than a list of links. Do NOT use it for questions about Aitherium or AitherOS; use search_aitherium for those, because the web has several unrelated projects with similar names.

  • evaluate_math

Evaluate a mathematical expression and return the result

  • find_files

Find files matching a glob pattern recursively.

  • forge_subagent

    Dispatch a sub-agent for a complex task

  • generate_image

Draw a picture from a description. UNLIKE everything else here this does NOT run on this machine — it runs on Aitherium hardware and needs the visitor to be signed in, so only use it when they actually asked for an image. It takes about a minute. The picture is shown to them directly; do not describe it as if you can see it.

  • get_current_time

Get the current date and time in the user's timezone

  • get_page_context

Get information about the current page and browser environment

  • get_system_status

Get AitherOS system health and service status

  • git_diff

Show git diff, optionally against a specific ref.

  • git_log

Show recent git commits (oneline format).

Show 30 more tools
  • git_status

Show git status (short format with branch).

  • kb_get

Read a full knowledge-base item by its id (from kb_search).

  • kb_save

Save a fact, snippet, or page summary to the person's local knowledge base. Use it when they say "save this", "remember this page", or share something worth keeping with a source. Items appear in their Knowledge app.

  • kb_search

Search the person's local knowledge base by keyword. Use it before answering anything they may have saved — "what did I save about X". Without a query it returns the most recent items.

  • list_apps

List the windows/apps that can be opened here, with a short description of each. Call this before open_app if you are not sure of the id.

  • list_dir

List directory contents with type indicators and sizes.

  • notes_create

Save a note on this device. Use it whenever the person asks you to remember a task, a fact, a thought, or anything worth keeping, OR when they say "note this down". Notes are stored locally and appear in their Notes app.

  • notes_delete

Delete a note by its id. Confirm before using.

  • notes_get

Read a full note by its id, or the best match for a search.

  • notes_search

Search the person's saved notes on this device by keyword. Use it before answering anything that might be in their notes, and when they ask "what did I note about X". Without a query it returns the most recent notes.

  • notes_update

Edit an existing note by its id. Use it when the person asks you to change or correct a note they already have. Pass only the fields you want to change.

  • onboard_full

Complete end-to-end onboarding for a new user. Creates account, gets API key, detects GPU, connects to AitherOS, deploys model (optional), and generates MCP config. This is THE skill to call when a human wants to get started with AitherOS.

  • onboard_setup_mcp

Generate MCP configuration for any agent client (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf). Returns the JSON config block to add.

  • onboard_status

Check what's configured and what's missing for AitherOS onboarding.

  • open_app

Open one of this OS's windows for the user (for example the sprite, terminal, playground or setup window). Use list_apps to see the available ids.

  • read_file

Read a file and return its contents with line numbers.

  • recall

Look through everything stored on this device before answering anything personal or anything you were told earlier. It walks their knowledge graph, so it finds things CONNECTED to the question, not only exact word matches. Use it rather than guessing what you were told.

  • remember

Store something durably on this device so you still know it in later conversations. Use it whenever the person tells you something about themselves, their preferences, their work, or anything they say to keep. It is saved locally and connected into their knowledge graph.

  • run_command

Run a shell command and return output. Dangerous commands (rm -rf /, format, etc.) are blocked.

  • search_aitherium

Search everything Aitherium has PUBLISHED about itself — AitherOS, Aitherium, the products, the architecture, the mission, and how any of it works. Use this BEFORE answering any question about Aitherium or AitherOS, even if you think you know: it returns passages with the page they came from, so your answer can be checked. Prefer it over web_search for anything about us.

  • search_code

    Search the AitherOS codebase

  • search_content

Search file contents for a regex pattern. Returns matching lines with paths and line numbers.

  • search_knowledge

Search the visitor's own knowledge base — the facts they have taught their AitherSprite. Use this when asked what they have taught you, or what you know about a topic they have shared. Optional query filters the entries.

  • search_wikipedia

Look up general world knowledge — science, computing, history, concepts — in an offline Wikipedia reference that works with no network. Use it for "what is X" questions about things that are NOT Aitherium. For anything about Aitherium or AitherOS use search_aitherium instead; Wikipedia cannot speak for us.

  • tasks_add

Add a task/to-do on this device. Use it when the person asks you to track something to do — "remind me to", "I need to", "add to my list". Tasks appear in their Tasks app. `due` is an optional ISO time.

  • tasks_complete

Mark a task done by its id (from tasks_list). Use when they say they did it.

  • tasks_delete

Delete a task by its id. Confirm before using.

  • tasks_list

List the person's open tasks (nearest due first). Use it when they ask "what's on my list", "what do I need to do", or before adding a possible duplicate.

  • web_search

Search the live web for current information. Use this for anything you do not already know, or anything that may have changed recently. Works without an account.

  • write_file

Write content to a file, creating parent directories as needed.
