About
Sentient OS is an open-source personal AI for Mac. Overnight it builds an understanding of the sources you choose, and during the day you can hand off a task such as a form, a reply or a booking. Its Sidekick feature uses its own cursor in your apps and browser, keeps knowledge in ordinary Markdown files, and lets you choose the model. It requires Apple silicon with macOS 15.4 or later, plus 8 GB of RAM for the built-in model.
