About
Kun is a local-first desktop workspace, with a terminal TUI, for coding, writing and research with AI agents. Code projects, documents and agent conversations share one runtime on the user's machine, and sessions, memory and settings stay local. Users connect their own model providers, including OpenAI and Anthropic compatible APIs, DeepSeek, Qwen, Ollama and local models, and tools can be added through MCP and Skills. Agents ask for approval before tools, folders or workspace permissions are used, and the project is licensed under PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 for non-commercial use only.
Use cases: coding, writing, research, code-generation, writing-editing, deep-research
