About

Amazon Q Developer is an AWS assistant for software development that works in IDE plugins, a command line, the AWS Console, Slack and Microsoft Teams. Its agentic features can implement features, document, test, review and refactor code, and upgrade Java versions or port .NET apps. It also answers questions about AWS resources and architecture. AWS has announced end of support for the IDE plugins on 30 April 2027 and points users to Kiro, and the open-source CLI repository now redirects to Kiro CLI.

Use cases: coding, testing, code-review, devops, security, code-generation
